The Leland house is all about capturing the views and taking advantage of indoor/outdoor living. In a mild climate the decks and patios almost double the effective living area. Designed to create outdoor rooms the patios created to define spaces that are linked transitional rooms that are connected to the surrounding landscaping.
All sides of this house are about bringing daylight into the interior while providing a balance of public and pravade faces. Clearestory windows under extended overhangs allow light to flood the living spaces while protecting from excessive solar gain.
Envisioned for a dry sunny climate the outdoor spaces take advantage of the different weather conditions occuring throughout the day and during the change of seasons.
